As someone passionate about automation and a strong advocate for using SolidWorks automation tools such as macros and add-ins, this tool has transformed my workflow. From managing part numbers for individual projects to automatically generating drawings, it has saved me hours of manual work. Read more
The tool is straightforward to set up and integrates seamlessly into the SolidWorks environment. It took very little time to become familiar with its settings and automation rules. I’ve used the add-in extensively for repetitive tasks, especially drawing generation. It allows for creation of multiple part and assembly drawings, and you can assign specific drawing templates for each model type, which is an absolute lifesaver.
If you’re looking to reduce design cycle times without compromising on quality, I highly recommend giving this tool a try.

Having been producing solid works models for the past few years using weldments I took the plunge and gave solidfabs a try. For the past few months I has grown to like the organised and ease of modelling approach. Using individual parts to detail models has created and cleaner and more adjustable model. Read more
Using weldments does cause issues with everything being in one model where as using solid fabs and working with individual parts has made a seamless way of modelling. Another great benefit is the automation of drawings. These has sped my detailing process up vastly as with the click of a button all parts are put into there drawing templates ready for dimensioning. Having been set in my ways with weldments I am glad I took the plunge and will probably never use typical multibody weldments going forward

I really like the Solid-Fabs approach, as this provides much greater control and flexibility for models and drawings.
Solid-Fabs has a clear, well-structured, well throughout workflow that saves me valuable time—time I can now dedicate to properly checking my work before issuing fabrication packs.
The BOM checker has been a real game changer for me. It allows me to fully check my properties / drawings. Giving me confidence that everything is accurate and ready before exporting to the fab pack.
Overall, Solid-Fabs has become an indispensable tool in my design process, and I highly recommend it to anyone working in SolidWorks.
